My name is Ashlee Leighow and I am the Special Education Director at Flower Mound School. This is my 24th year as a special education educator and I am excited to see what FMS can do for your child along side you as parents! J Teamwork is the dreamwork!
If you have any questions or comments concerning your child’s IEP or 504 Plan, please contact me. I will be your child’s IEP/504 Plan teacher of record/case manager. I will send home classroom monitor reports at the end of every quarter in order for us both to be aware of how he/she is doing in their classroom. These will be in their Friday Folders/back packs so please remember to check! Also, just a reminder that you can check on their grades through WenGage as many times as you would like. This is very beneficial so there are no “surprises” when progress reports/report cards go home. If you don’t have that log in information, please contact Mrs. Coy for assistance.
If you have a question about your child’s grades, please contact their teacher first. I’m happy to be of assistance when there are questions but many times the teacher will be able to answer your questions better than me.
A copy of your child’s IEP/504 Plan, which includes their accommodations/modifications, has already been sent to their teacher(s) so they are aware of any additional help he/she may need in the classroom.
With today’s technologies, our IEP/504 Plan meetings may be held in person, via Zoom meeting, or via a phone conference. If you choose to participate via Zoom or phone conference, we will send home a sheet of paper for you to sign and send back verifying your participation and agreement to the paperwork discussed. Many meetings will be held the first few months of school to prepare for this year.
